Ontario Provincial Police say a woman who was pulled over for speeding in Green Valley, Ont., north of Cornwall, was also watching a movie on her phone. Officers stopped the driver just before 10 p.m. after clocking the vehicle at 109 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. “The officer observed the driver watching a movie on her cellphone while speeding. The driver stated she was late for work,” police said in a post on social media. The driver is facing charges of stunt driving and driving while using a hand-held device. A stunt driving charge comes with an automatic 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound. “Under Ontario law, using a handheld electronic device while driving, including watching videos, is illegal and poses a serious risk to everyone on the road. Excessive speed and distracted driving put lives at risk. No destination or deadline is worth a life,” police said.
