A motorist suspended from driving for three years was caught driving on Highway 416 in Ottawa’s southwest end on Monday, according to police. Ontario Provincial Police say an officer received a notification from its Automated Licence Plate Recognition camera that the registered owner of a vehicle was a suspended driver. “The driver, a 31-year-old male, had been suspended since 2023 and his plate permit had been expired since 2024,” Const. Michael Fathi said on X. “This driver faces escalating sanctions for driving under suspension, as it’s not their first time being stopped for this offence.”
