A driver is facing a $10,000 fine after being caught driving while suspended and with no insurance for the third time in six weeks. The Ottawa Police Service says a South District Traffic officer stopped a driver in the area of Half Moon Bay in Barrhaven for “suspended driving and no insurance.” “The third time in six weeks,” police said. “Vehicle now held until court date in June, where he’ll be facing $10,000 fine.” Police did not release any other information about the driver. The minimum fine for driving without insurance is $5,000, while the minimum fine for driving while under suspension is $2,000. Last weekend, Ontario Provincial Police charged 11 drivers for driving without insurance on Ottawa roads.
