The Ottawa Police Service says being late for an appointment is not an excuse for speeding 50 km/h over the speed limit in Navan. In a post on X, the Ottawa Police Service’s Road Safety and District Traffic Units said a driver was caught speeding on Colonial Road on Tuesday. “Unfortunately, ‘Late for an appointment’ isn’t going to cut it if you’re doing 91 in a posted 40 zone,” police said. “East District Traffic deploying for enforcement in the Navan area - one of several priority locations this Fall.” The driver is facing a charge of stunt driving, which includes a 30-day license suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
