A transport truck driver received a $390 fine for having an insecure load after a load of wood went through the trailer and into the back of the truck cab on Highway 417 in Ottawa’s west end. Ontario Provincial Police closed two lanes on Highway 417 westbound at Pinecrest Road after the crash Tuesday morning. OPP Const. Michael Fathi said a tractor-trailer driver stopped suddenly in a construction area, and part of its load went through the trailer. “The load went through the trailer and into the back of the truck cab,” Fathi said. “The driver is lucky that he was not injured.” The highway was closed for two hours while the load of wood was transferred to another trailer. The driver was given a $390 fine for having an insecure load on a commercial motor vehicle, according to police. Ministry of Transportation cameras showed traffic backed up in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 417 past Woodroffe Avenue.
