A cyclist suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Ottawa’s west end on Monday afternoon. Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says first responders were called to the intersection of Carp Road and March Road in Carp at 3:06 p.m. A man on the bike was struck by a “small SUV” and was trapped under the vehicle. The man had to be extricated from underneath by firefighters, Deschamps said. Deschamps says the man’s injuries are serious, but non-life threatening. He was taken to hospital in stable condition. The intersection of March Road and Carp Road is currently closed but is expected to reopen shortly, according to Ottawa police. Traffic is being re-routed by officers on scene.
