Cyclist hit by transport truck near Fallowfield train station

A cyclist has been hospitalized after being hit by a transport truck being driven on Fallowfield Road near the Via Rail station.

Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says emergency responders were called to Fallowfield Road and Via Park Place at 11:20 a.m. Friday for the collision.

The man who was struck was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, Deschamps said.

Fallowfield eastbound was closed at Via Park Place while police were on scene. The road reopened at around 1 p.m.

Ottawa police said the investigation remains ongoing and had no other details.
