Ontario Provincial Police say a Carleton Place resident is facing charges in connection with an online child luring investigation. Police say officers executed search warrants where several electronic devices were seized last Thursday. Troy Latham, 48, was arrested and charged with five counts of child luring. OPP say the suspect is alleged to have used online aliases, including “SmoothDancer17” and “TMAC The Dance King.” Police are urging anyone who may have communicated with the suspect to contact OPP. “The OPP will continue to identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by educating their children on internet safety,” OPP said in a news release Monday. The suspect remains in custody pending a bail hearing this week. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
