Ballet Jörgen has announced a new venue for its performances of “The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition” this December. The torrential rainfall on July 1 flooded the Meridian Theatres at Centrepoint, forcing an extended closure. The City of Ottawa said in July the venue was considerably damaged and would remain closed until the end of the year. “The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition” was scheduled for Dec. 11 and 12 at the theatre but had to be cancelled due to the closure of the venue. On Wednesday, Ballet Jörgen said it had secured a new venue and would now perform at the Bronson Centre on Dec. 14 and 15. “Thank you for your understanding as we make this change. We look forward to welcoming you downtown for a magical holiday experience,” the company said in an email.
