Soccer fans in the capital will be able to cheer on Team Canada and Atlético Ottawa with a single ticket this Saturday, as the local football club hosts a watch party for Canada’s World Cup match against Morocco. Match-goers will have access to TD Place Stadium starting at 12:45 p.m. when Gate #1 opens, and will be able to cheer on the Canadian Men’s National Team in their Round of 16 match on the world stage before Atlético takes on Cavalry FC at 4 p.m. The kickoff was punted back an hour to give fans a chance to support both the hometown club and what it called the most important men’s professional soccer match in Canada’s history. “Bringing our community together to support the Canadian Men’s National Team is about celebrating the growth of soccer in this country,” said Manuel Vega, CEO of Atlético Ottawa in a news release. “We want this event to create an unforgettable moment that inspires the next generation of players and deepens the connection between supporters and the Beautiful Game.” Tickets are available on the Canadian Premier League’s website. Additionally, all ticket purchasers will be entered into a raffle to win Atlético Ottawa’s 2025 Championship-winning primary jersey signed by the full North Star Cup-winning team, Atlético says. Canada advanced to the Round of 16 following a 1-0 win over South Africa on Sunday, marking Canada’s first ever appearance and win in a World Cup knockout game. Morocco moved on to face Canada after defeating the Netherlands 3-2 in penalty kicks following a 1-1 tie on Monday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Government of Canada and the City of Ottawa are also hosting a watch party at LeBreton Flats on Saturday, on a first-come, first-served basis.
