Popular retailer Abercrombie & Fitch will be opening a store in downtown Ottawa this summer. A construction sign with the name of the retailer has been installed in front of the former Eddie Bauer store near the Rideau Centre food court. Several job postings, including an assistant manager position, are available online. The American retail giant operates over 780 stores worldwide, including its offshoot brands Abercrombie Kids, Your Personal Best, Gilly Hicks and Hollister Co. stores, according to its website. It would be its only location in Ottawa. The opening comes as the Rideau Centre has seen several large retailers inside it close in the last few years, including the Gap and Nordstrom. Hudson’s Bay closed its location across the street after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2025. CTV News Ottawa has reached out to Abercrombie & Fitch for comment.
