Ottawa could see one final day of rain to add to a record-breaking summer. As of Aug. 30, a total of 547.8 millimetres of rain has been recorded at the Ottawa airport, setting the record for the wettest summer in the city’s history. Before the rain might come, a fog advisory is warning of dense fog around Ottawa. “Near-zero visibility in fog is expected. Locally dense fog will persist into early this morning before dissipating,” Environment Canada says. “Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.” The forecast for the last day of August in the capital includes a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon amid a mix of sun and cloud. The forecast high for Monday is 24 C, with a humidex of 29. September starts out rainy, with showers and the risk of a thunderstorm in the forecast. Ottawa could see 10 to 15 mm of rain on Tuesday, with a high of 23 C. There is a 60 per cent chance of showers in the forecast for Wednesday, with a high of 26 C. Thursday’s outlook is cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 24 C. There is a bit of sunshine in the forecast for Friday.
