A fog advisory for Ottawa ended Thursday morning, after the city was soaked by nearly 30 millimetres of rain. Ottawa officially saw 29.1 mm on Wednesday as a storm system moved across the province. On Thursday, Environment Canada warned of near-zero visibility at times due to fog in many areas. The fog advisory ended just before 8:30 a.m. The Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival cancelled its morning flights because of the weather, saying on social media that fingers are crossed for better weather in the evening. Thursday’s weather forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 26 C with a humidex of 32. There is a 30 per cent chance Ottawa could see some showers in the afternoon. Overnight, expect a low of 15 C. The average highs and lows for this time of the year are around 22 C and 12 C, respectively. Friday is looking partly cloudy with a high of 23 C and a humidex of 27. On Saturday, the forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud and a 30 per cent chance of showers with a high of 23 C. Sunday’s looking mainly sunny with a high of 24 C. Labour Day Monday could see a few clouds.
