The Gatineau fire department says 50 firefighters were needed to handle a blaze at an industrial building that began Monday night and kept burning into Tuesday morning. Firefighters were first called to the commercial building on rue Saint-Louis, south of boulevard Maloney Ouest, at around 9 p.m. Monday. As of noon Tuesday, fire officials said the situation was still ongoing. The front section of the building was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, a news release said. The rear section of the building, where administrative offices are located, was protected from the fire. Several businesses are located in the building. The fire department said affected addresses include 418, 428, and 438 rue Saint-Louis. No one has been reported hurt.
