Ottawa police hit the brakes on two vehicles street racing in the west end over the weekend. Police say officers observed the vehicles travelling 125 km/h on Baseline Road near Erindale Drive at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday. The speed limit on Baseline Road is 60 km/h. “Street racing puts everyone at risk,” police said in a social media post. “Together, we can help keep our roads safe and our community protected.” Police say both drivers had their licences suspended and the vehicles were impounded for 14 days. According to the Ontario government’s website, the fine for stunt driving or street racing ranges from $2,000 to $10,000.
