Quebec provincial police say a 66-year-old man is dead and several people, including a 16-year-old driver, were injured following a head-on crash in Kazabazua, Que., on Sunday. According to the Sûreté du Québec, a pickup truck collided head-on with a car on chemin Gerry-Labelle at around 8:30 p.m. Police believe the pickup truck veered out of its lane and struck the car at the top of a hill. The 66-year-old driver of the car died of his injuries. The 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck is in the hospital in serious but stable condition. Five other people who were in the truck were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, police said. The Sûreté du Québec said the 16-year-old driver will be interviewed by investigators when his health permits, as criminal charges could be laid. Police say the teen did not have a driver’s licence. Kazabazua is approximately 80 kilometres north of Ottawa.
