A Sault Ste. Marie judge sentenced Manoj Govindbalunikam to 18 months for luring a child with ice cream and a fidget spinner in Thessalon in 2023. The court rejected his cultural defence. Govindbalunikam will also have to submit a DNA sample, received probation, mandatory counselling and weapons ban in additional to a no contact order with the victim. Cory Nordstrom explains.
