Three oil-covered pigeons have been found in downtown Sudbury over the last two weeks; Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre in Val Caron suspects that used cooking oil was deliberately poured on the birds. The rescue's founder called it an act of senseless suffering; however, the pigeons are expected to recover.
