Glencore confirms that about one cubic metre of smelter dust, containing iron, silica and trace metals, was released over the Falconbridge community overnight Sept. 23-24 due to a maintenance incident. Cleanup is underway and public health officials are investigating. The company says it is assessing and cleaning properties.
