A heavy police presence around a North Bay apartment building Sunday afternoon turned out to be a false alarm. Officers evacuated and searched a Rose Avenue residence after reports of gunshots around 1 p.m. No evidence of a firearm was found and no arrests were made. Residents were allowed to return by 5 p.m.
