Sudbury loosing up to $6M yearly after minning property values slashed by province
A provincial tribunal upheld assessments slashing 14 Sudbury mining properties' values by 47%, costing the city $5-6 million yearly. The city recouped $4 million in one-time taxes, covering its $2 million appeal costs. CAO Shari Lichterman says the dispute was with MPAC, not mining giants Glencore and Vale.
