Fauquier-Strickland residents learn interim funding keeps township running – for now
Fauquier-Strickland residents learned how $300,000 in emergency funding from the Ontario Government will temporarily keep the township afloat at a special council meeting Thursday evening. The small northern community – saddled with $2.5 million in debt – has halted its planned end of services set for Aug. 1. However, town officials warned services remain "bare bones" for the foreseeable future.
