A passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer collided June 2 on Highway 17 near Kenora, killing a 32-year-old man from Winnipeg. The crash took place around 1:45 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release June 3. The OPP initially said the victim was 17 years old, but issued a correction later clarifying that it was, in fact, a 32-year-old man. “OPP officers, along with emergency medical services, responded to reports of a collision on Highway 17, west of Kenora,” police said. “One individual, a 32-year-old male from Winnipeg, Man., was pronounced deceased on scene.” Highway 17 was closed for several hours while the OPP completed their investigation.
