Police in Sudbury say they were notified of suspicious activity in the Mallard’s Landing area just after noon on June 23. “Information indicated that a man had been hiding in the bushes along the trail and had jumped out while yelling at people walking by, causing significant fear and concern,” police said in a news release Thursday. “Police have identified the man involved, and the investigation remains ongoing.” The Rainbow District School Board notified police because students frequently use the trail system in that area. Police continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of the community and remind people to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Anyone who may have had a similar encounter or has information related to this incident, is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
