Sudbury police called to remove trespassers from home, discover guns and drugs

Reports of an unwanted person led police in Sudbury to discover almost $11,000 in drugs, cash and cellphones. One person has been charged.

Two suspected drug dealers were arrested and nearly $11,000 in cocaine and crack were seized after police were called to home in Sudbury’s West End on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the house on Whittaker Street around 4:15 p.m. April 24 by a homeowner who wanted people who were allegedly trespassing removed from the lower unit.

“While speaking with the individuals, officers saw illicit drugs and drug packaging materials in plain sight,” Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Friday.

“The two individuals were placed under arrest. While clearing the unit, officers located multiple replica handguns, additional drugs and cash.”

A 31-year-old is charged with drug trafficking, providing false identification to officers, obstructing a peace officer and possessing property obtained by crime.

The second suspect, a 53-year-old man, is also charged with drug trafficking and possessing property obtained by crime.

“In total, officers located and seized, over 84 grams of cocaine, 60 grams of crack, over $9,000 in cash, five replica guns, drug packaging materials and numerous cellphones,” police said.

“The estimated street value of the drugs is $10,600.”

Both of the suspects were held in police custody overnight and are scheduled to attend a bail hearing Friday.
