A 29-year-old woman has been charged with break and enter and other offences following a break-and-enter in Sault Ste. Marie on May 19.

Police responded to a 911 call around 4 p.m. reporting an incident at a residence on Simpson Street.

“An investigation revealed a suspect … had broken into a residence and began to steal property before being confronted by one of the victims and running away,” police said in a news release May 21.

“The accused is not known to the victims.”

She was arrested around 7:30 p.m. the same day and charged with three counts of violating probation and one count of break and enter.

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.
