Sault police seek help with Home Depot theft investigation

Sault police and Crime Stoppers ask for help identifying a suspect in the theft of $1,000 in merchandise from Home Depot.

Sault police are investigating a theft at the Home Depot on Great Northern Road last month.

According to police, an unknown male suspect entered the store at about 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of June 28.

“The suspect took items valued at $1,000 and proceeded to exit the store,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release.

Authorities said the suspect left in a stolen vehicle.

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.

“Do you recognize this individual,” asked Kendra Addison, the Sault Ste. Marie coordinator for Crime Stoppers, in a related online video.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
