Police in North Bay are investigating an overnight vehicle robbery and are asking the public for help identifying and locating a suspect. The North Bay Police Service said officers responded shortly before midnight on Sept. 17 to a gas station in the 1000 block of Algonquin Avenue following a report that “a suspect had approached a driver, pointed what is believed to be a firearm and demanded their vehicle.” “The victim and suspect were not known to each other,” police said in a news release Friday. Vehicle description The vehicle is described as a grey 2009 Acura CSX 2.0, bearing Ontario licence plate DKCS 234. The car was last seen travelling northbound in the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive. Suspect description Police described the suspect as a young man with shaggy hair and swooped bangs, who was wearing a black hoodie with white designs on the arms, a green backpack, grey pants and black and white shoes. ‘Do not approach’ “The suspect is considered armed and dangerous,” said police. “Members of the public should not approach the suspect or the vehicle.” Authorities said anyone who sees either the man or the car should call 911 immediately. Ongoing investigation Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage from the area during that time, to contact North Bay police at 705-472-1234.
