Ontario Provincial Police charged a 51-year-old Redbridge man who tried to evade arrest an officer following a traffic stop on Highway 11 Sunday morning. “The driver was arrested after providing an officer with false identification and later fled on foot into a wooded area south of North Bay,” police said in a release Wednesday. “The vehicle was stopped for its permit being expired.” Following a brief foot pursuit, police said the man was safely taken into custody and charged with operation while prohibited, obstruction of a peace officer, two counts of driving while under suspension and failure to surrender a permit. The accused appeared in court Sept. 14 and had his vehicle impounded for 45 days
