North Bay police find body on Mulligan Street in the city

Police in North Bay have located a dead body on Mulligan Street and are treating the discovery as a suspicious death.

The news comes a day after an intensive search on Mulligan Street in North Bay for a missing man, but police are not yet saying whether the discovery is linked to the missing 62-year-old man.

“Officers remain on scene and a continued police presence for several more days is expected as the investigation continues,” police said in a news release Feb. 11.

Isolated incident

“The Office of the Chief Coroner is conducting a concurrent investigation to determine the cause of death. Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident, with no known risk to public safety.”

CTV News has asked police whether they are still looking for the missing person and why they believe there is no threat to the public.

“At this time, investigators have not confirmed the identity of the deceased and cannot confirm whether this is connected to the missing person investigation,” police said in a statement.

“Missing person alert is still active.”

“No further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of the deceased and their family,” police added.
