A 33-year-old North Bay woman was charged with drug trafficking in Sturgeon Falls after Ontario Provincial Police received a report that she was in a gas station for more than an hour. At around 4:50 a.m. on Nov. 4, OPP responded to a report of an unwanted person at a gas station on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls. Police said officers were told she had been in the washroom for over an hour and was not responding, OPP said in a news release Thursday. “Officers requested medical assistance and the individual was transported to hospital for medical attention,” police said. “During the investigation, officers seized suspected fentanyl, along with drug-related paraphernalia.” OPP estimated the street value of the suspected fentanyl seized at more than $14,000. The woman was charged with trafficking and is scheduled to appear in court in North Bay on Feb. 4. Police ask anyone who suspects a person is experiencing an overdose to call 911 immediately.
