Thunder Bay Police and Ontario Provincial Police were at the scene of a late-night collision Tuesday involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Highway 11/17 at Red River Road. “The mishap occurred before 11:00 p.m. and the female pedestrian involved in the collision suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP said in a release July 29. “The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the collision are still being determined.” The road was reopened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police said the investigation is ongoing and Thunder Bay OPP request anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to call them, or Crime Stoppers.
