A Thunder Bay Police Service drug trafficking investigation has resulted in charges and the seizure of illicit drugs and a firearm. Police said officers searched a home in the Ray Boulevard area on the evening of Aug. 13 as part of an ongoing investigation. “During the search, three individuals were located and arrested,” police said in a news release. Cash, drug and gun seized As a result of the investigation, officers seized: “The street value of the drugs seized is over $100,000,” police said. Multiple charges laid A 48-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Thunder Bay, were each charged with a drug trafficking offence for the suspected cocaine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime. The 48-year-old faces an additional drug trafficking charge for the suspected fentanyl along with a charge of obstructing police and four firearm-related charges – including unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of a firearm obtained by crime. Both men were remanded into custody following their first court appearance. The third accused, a local woman, was released with a future court date for undisclosed charges.
