TORONTO - A new film festival is being launched to focus on movies about breast cancer and breast health.

The Breast Fest Film Festival is the brainchild of the charity Rethink Breast Cancer. The group says the festival will take place in Toronto in November and will showcase "the many different aspects of breast cancer and breast health through film, including short films, documentaries, animation and dramatic features."

Submissions for the festival will be reviewed by a committee that includes representatives from the Toronto International Film Festival Group and Hot Docs Festival.

A selection of shorts from the event will be posted on the festival's website in October and the public will be asked to vote on their favourites.
