An unconscious man was found on a sidewalk in downtown Montreal early Monday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 12:25 a.m. about the incident near Sainte-Catherine Street and Clark Street. “When police officers arrived at the scene, they quickly located the victim, a man who was already being treated by Urgences-Santé and first-responders,” said Johany Charland, a spokesperson with Montreal police. The man was rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition. “According to the initial information, the victim lost consciousness outside for reasons that are so far unknown,” said Charland. She adds that there is evidence suggesting he was with another person, who fled prior to police arriving on site. A security perimeter has been established to allow investigators to canvass the scene.
