Les Grecs de Chomedey, or the Greeks of Chomedey, a gang on Montreal’s North Shore, was targeted by a series of raids by Laval police (SPL) on Feb. 24. The force notes that the searches aim to address drug trafficking in the Laval area. “The investigation into the Greeks of Chomedey criminal cell has shown that this group is involved in drug trafficking,” Laval police said on Wednesday. Five addresses were searched, including two homes in the Chomedey neighbourhood of Laval. On the Island of Montreal, two residences were raided in the LaSalle borough, as well as a commercial address in the Saint-Laurent borough. The investigation led to the seizure of: “This was the first phase of the searches, and no arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation,” Laval police notes. “The operation illustrates the SPL’s commitment to proactively curb the activities of criminal groups on its territory and maintain sustained pressure on organized crime.” Montreal police (SPVM) assisted in the operation.
