Police officers in Quebec are searching several sites in the City of Lévis and the Village of Sainte-Claire, both near Quebec City, on Thursday morning as part of the fight against organized crime. “The addresses targeted are residences and a commercial garage linked to a well-structured organization by influential members of the Blood Family Mafia,” the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) notes. The operation involves 80 officers from the SQ, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Montreal police (SPVM), Quebec City police (SPVQ) and more. It is the result of an investigation that began in February. A previous search in March led to the seizure of numerous firearms, including two assault weapons, and the arrests of two people in Saint-Basile. Any information relating to the possession, trafficking or use of firearms can be reported to the CENTAURE information line at 1-833-888-ARME (2763).
