A woman was stabbed and fled to a neighbour’s for help, and a man was arrested after barricading himself in an apartment in Montreal’s Little Burgundy neighbourhood. Police responded to the neighbour’s 911 call at 9 a.m. after a 44-year-old woman was stabbed in the upper body and fled next door on St-Martin Street near Saint-Jacques Street. When officers arrived, a 57-year-old man was barricaded in an apartment and refused to let them in. After about an hour, police were able to convince the man to open the door, and he surrendered. He was arrested and transported to a detention centre where investigators met him. The woman was transported to the hospital, but there is no fear for her life.
