Montreal police investigates fire at LaSalle bar

Montreal police (SPVM) is investigating the cause of a fire at a bar in LaSalle early Tuesday morning.

The force received a 911 call at 1:30 a.m. about the incident on Champlain Boulevard near Gagné Street.

“When the police arrived on the scene, they extinguished the beginning of the fire with a fire extinguisher,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “According to the first information, the fire would have started at the brewery front door.”

There were no reported injuries, and there was no damage to the property.

No incendiary object was found at the scene.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
