Santa Claus Parade and construction will cause road closures

Drivers heading into Montreal this weekend should note that construction projects will leave some routes less than fluid, and the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday will result in backed-up traffic downtown.

Santa Claus Parade

• Starting at 11 a.m., parade floats will start heading east on René-Lévesque Boulevard, starting at Drummond Street and ending at Saint-Urbain Street.

Motorists are advised to avoid the entire area for the morning as crowds begin forming at least an hour before the parade.

Honore-Mercier Bridge (R-138)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on the bridge.

De l’Acier/Highway 30 (Brossard)

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Highway 30 west will be closed between exit 67 (A-10, A-15, I-89, downtown Montreal, Sherbrooke) and the Highway 10 access roads (east and west).

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard/R-138 (Châteauguay)

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., two of three lanes will be closed on Route-138 eastbound (Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard) between Rodrigue Street and Industriel Boulevard.
