Revenu Québec lawyers have ratified the tentative agreement reached to renew their 2023–2027 collective bargaining agreement, following more than two years of negotiations. These members of the independent union LANEQ (Les Avocats et notaires de l’État québécois) ratified the agreement by a margin of 99.4 per cent. Pay parity with other legal professionals in the public service was at the heart of the dispute, according to LANEQ, which also represents the group. The Revenu Québec lawyers and notaries work in areas such as litigation, criminal prosecutions, and the interpretation and enforcement of tax laws. The new collective bargaining agreement provides for wage increases of 16.85 per cent over four years, the union said. Bonuses will also be increased.
