Service on the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) will be suspended across the entire network this weekend to allow testing on the A3 branch, which will serve Montreal’s West Island. Shuttle buses will be offered to replace REM service on Saturday and Sunday. The REM said on its website that the service interruption will allow crews to carry out “final testing ahead of the opening of the A3 branch,” which will end at Anse-à-l’Orme station in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. That segment of the REM is scheduled to open in spring 2026. The REM has also announced an early closure of the entire network on Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. to allow additional testing on the A3 branch.
