Montrealers will need to brace themselves for more snow this weekend. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a special weather statement Thursday for parts of southern Quebec as a low pressure system is headed our way that is expected to bring 10 to 15 centimetres of snow. The special weather statement is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. “Rapidly accumulating snow on roads may make travel difficult, especially overnight Friday night and Saturday morning,” ECCC said. With the new snow, ECCC says that Montreal is one of several Quebec cities that will pass the 100-centimetre mark for the month of February. The forecasted high for Friday is -5 C, with winds gusting to 40 km/h. The low will drop to -9C, with a wind chill of -17 overnight. Saturday will warm up slightly with a high of -3 C. The low will be -17 C.
