Quebecer Lucette Perron says she was shocked to find out that she had won $1 million in the Sept. 3 Lotto 6/49 draw. The Montérégie resident says she used the Loto-Quebec app to check her ticket the morning after the draw, and quickly ran into her son’s room to wake him up when she saw the six zeros appear on the screen. Perron recalls that it took her son a moment to grasp what she was saying, as he was still half asleep. Afterwards, Perron says she called her second son to tell him the exciting news. Skeptical at first, she says he asked her for proof — and joined in the celebrations after checking the ticket himself. Perron says she plans to use her newfound fortune to enjoy life “24/7,” as she humorously puts it. The winning ticket was purchased at the Tabagie des Halles convenience store at 145 Saint-Joseph Blvd. in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The retailer will receive a one per cent commission of $10,000.
