One person is dead after a fire ignited at a home in the Chomedey neighbourhood of Laval, north of Montreal. Laval police (SPL) received a 911 call at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday about the blaze on Saint-Judes Street. Upon arrival, police evacuated the premises. One person was found inside the home and was transported to hospital in critical condition, where they died of their injuries. “An investigation was conducted by the fire department, and there will be an examination of the scene,” the SPL told Noovo Info. The investigation is ongoing to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding the fire.
