Pierre Richer had been playing the lottery for 30 years when he finally hit it big—winning a $50-million Lotto-Max draw on Oct. 6. Richer says he bought the winning ticket while shopping for Thanksgiving dinner with his daughter at a Super C on Champlain Boulevard in Montreal. His dream? To buy a home on the outskirts of Montreal. "Our plan is to buy a house, a new car, and that's basically it, and then they go on vacation. I'm not a person who goes on vacation, so I'll let them go on vacation," said Richer on Thursday. Richer, who is in his 60s, starts work as a driver for a catering company every day at 4: 30 a.m. Despite a 40-year career, he has no plans to retire anytime soon. "I just can't leave them alone in the dark because, without me there, the shipping department is just not feasible," he said. His winning numbers were 04, 17, 20, 23, 25, 27, 41 with bonus 07. MORE WINNERS As the seller of the winning ticket, the Super C will receive a one per cent commission of $500,000. "We will throw a party for all the employees of the store," said Maryse Lafortune, a Super C service specialist. Somewhere in the province, there is still a Quebec 49 winner. A $2-million draw has been won but not claimed, said Loto-Quebec spokesperson Isabelle Racicot. "Look at your ticket. There's a millionaire walking around and probably doesn't know it," she said.
