Here are the Montreal-area weekend road closures

Commuters in and around Montreal should be aware that the Montreal marathon and construction will result in road closures in and around the city.

Work in the tunnel and the Montreal Marathon are bound to cause massive back ups in certain areas and drivers should plan ahead.

Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel (A-25)

Southbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Sunday at 11 p.m., Highway 25 southbound will be closed between the Anjou interchange and Route 132 in Longueuil, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge and tunnel.
• From Sunday at 11:00 p.m. to Tuesday at 5:00 a.m., Highway 25 southbound will be closed between Exit 4 (Montreal, city centre) and Route 132 in Longueuil, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge-tunnel.
• In addition, Souligny Avenue East will be closed from Friday at 10.30 p.m. until Sunday evening, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets.
• Also, one of two lanes on Souligny Avenue West will be closed at the junction with Dickson Street.

By default, the following will also be closed:

• At the Anjou interchange, the sevice roads leading from Highway 40 west and Highway 25 south.
• At the Anjou interchange, the service road leading from Highway 40 east to Highway 25 south.
• Access from Sherbrooke, Tellier and des Futailles streets.
• From 2 a.m. on Saturday on the Metropolitan Highway (A-40) west, access from Stinson Street.

Northbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between Exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 west at Longueuil and the access from Sherbrooke Street East in Montreal.

By default, the following will also be closed, 30 minutes before:

• The service roads leading from Route 132 East and Route 132 West (exits 89-N) to the A-25 North. E
• Access from l’Île-Charron Street.
• Access from Curatteau Street.
• From Saturday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 7 a.m.; from Sunday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m., and from Monday at 10 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m., the tunnel will be closed between Exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 west at Longueuil and the approach from Notre-Dame Street West in Montreal.

By default, the following will close 30 minutes before:

• The service roads leading from Route 132 East and West (exits 89-N) to Highway 25 North.
• Access from l’Île-Charron Street.
• Access from Curatteau Street.

Longueuil

René-Lévesque Highway (R-132)

• From Thursday at 9 p.m. to Friday at 5 a.m., the highway will be closed between Roland-Therrien Boulevard and the A-20 / A-25 / R-132 interchange.

By default, the following will close at 8:30 p.m.:

• Access from Roland-Therrien Boulevard / Rue Saint-Charles East.

Roland-Therrien Boulevard

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Roland-Therrien Boulevard northbound will be closed at the Route 132 (René-Lévesque) junction.

Taschereau Boulevard (R-134)

• In Brossard, until mid-October, one lane will be open in each directions in the evenings and at night on Taschereau Boulevard (R-134) between Panama/Auteuil Avenue and Matte Boulevard.

Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard (R-116)

• In Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, from Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard (R-116) between Seigneurial Ouest and De Boucherville boulevards.

Route Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier (R-158)

• In Mirabel, from Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Route Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier (R-158) will be closed in both directions between Highway 15 (des Laurentides) and Saint-Simon Road.

REM

• Scheduled works on the network will result in delayed 7:30 a.m. service starts on Saturday and Sunday.

Montreal Beneva Marathon

• Several streets will be closed during the races on Saturday (1 km, 5 km and 10 km) and Sunday (marathon).
