A gas leak Tuesday afternoon forced the closure of Sherbrooke Street in both directions between Cote St-Antoine Road and Wilson Avenue in Notre-Dame-de-Grace. The Montreal Fire Department said a construction worker mistakenly hit a gas pipe at a construction site at 2:21 pm. Police were called in to close the area to traffic, and the fire department was working with Energir, the gas company, to repair the leak. Police said the street has since reopened.
