The son of a couple in their 60s has been arrested after a stabbing in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough. Montreal police (SPVM) spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant confirmed that the 68-year-old man and 66-year-old woman are out of danger after being stabbed in the upper body overnight. Emergency services responded to the call on Viau Boulevard near Jean-Rivard Street. “Upon arriving at the scene, police officers found two victims with upper-body injuries caused by a sharp object,” said Brabant They were transported to the hospital in critical condition, but their condition improved, and authorities no longer fear for their lives. The couple’s 26-year-old son was arrested near the scene. “He was taken to an investigative facility, where he will be interviewed by investigators in the coming hours,” Brabant said.
