CBSA arrests traveller with 3D-printed weapons at Quebec border crossing

Canada’s border agency said it stopped a traveller in Quebec who allegedly had 3D-printed firearm frames and parts, as well as prohibited weapons, inside a trailer.

The seizure happened at the St-Bernard-de-Lacolle port of entry on Aug. 26, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said in a post on social media.

As a result of the seizure, charges have been filed against the individual at the courthouse in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., for making a false statement, smuggling, illegal importation, and unauthorized possession of three prohibited firearms, as well as prohibited weapons and devices, the agency added, without naming the accused.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing at a later date.
